How Will Your Life Story End?

“He died peacefully in his hospital bed, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with some disease.”

That’s not the way I want my life story to end!

I want to be on the news after falling to my death while attempting to climb a mountain. Or, after drowning trying to swim under a waterfall. Or, after plummeting to my death when my parachute doesn’t open. Or… I want to seriously die peacefully in my bed, disease free, after a good 100 years or more on this Earth.

I do not want to wither away helplessly. In pain. My body and mind breaking down minute by minute. The ‘peaceful’ in my death just a nice way of saying I was so pumped full of painkillers that my mind was gone long before my heart took its last beat. Looking at the possible ending is anything but peaceful to me.

Shit happens. Even doing everything I can to create optimum health within the world that is my body may still end with some disease sneaking in and destroying me. But, I have made a vow to myself to do that ‘everything I can’ to give me the best fighting chance to live an optimum life.

It’s Not Rocket Science

If I can shed closer to 40 pounds in two months and exercise myself into probably the best shape I’ve been in over my 52 years, anyone can. I have an arsenal of habits that I’ve deployed as weapons against an unhealthy life but a few are key.

At the very top of the list is intermittent fasting. By simply not eating outside of the hours of 9am and 4pm every day, the body takes care of itself. Magic happens. Returning to a full vegan diet is certainly helping but is not necessary. No longer eating grains, sugar or dairy is certainly helping but is not entirely necessary. It’s those 16+ hours (more like 18-19 for me) out of every 24 where I don’t eat any food that makes all the difference.

A daily exercise routine, focused on the core, was not necessary to shed weight. In fact, I can imagine the number on the scale might even be lower if I hadn’t gone deep into a workout ritual as I wouldn’t have added any of that pesky, heavy muscle. It certainly had helped in ensuring no ‘floppy skin’ from the rapid weight loss. Everything has pulled together quite nicely.

I’m Not Pushing My Success On Anyone

I’m not writing about my lifestyle shift to gloat. I haven’t even suggested in the least that family members give my habits a go. I just want to show anyone that’s searching for an improvement that there is a simple solution. At 52, I want people to know that it’s not too late. We’re programmed to believe that the body can only go downhill after a certain age. This is simply not the case.

There’s a whole lot we can do with these bodies after a half century. Get out of that drive-thru lineup right now and never return. Feed the body what it really needs and when it really needs it. Get excited. Get excited because you have the power to get younger. You have the power to build an extremely robust immune system. Doesn’t everyone want that in 2020? You will not get it from a Big Mac meal…

By the way, something everyone should really look into is the Wim Hof Method. This is a breathing ritual that takes less than 20 minutes and makes you feel wonderful. The health benefits seem to be far-reaching. This is a game changer in the health and fitness department. I’ve been doing it daily for a while now and can’t imagine my day without it. Check out our previous article on the Wim Hof Method for more information.

Don’t Make The Medical System Rich

Let’s face it. The medical community needs sick people. Doctors need billable hours to afford their luxury cars and mansions. Big Pharma needs sick people to give expensive medicines to. Governments need you sick and scared in order to control you.

Fuck that. Get optimally healthy, folks. Get immune. Don’t be ‘vulnerable’ anymore. Check out the other articles on this site for simple daily habits that will change your life. Don’t take my word. My story is just an example for what can happen. The habit articles refer to the websites of the experts so you can do your own research.

A bit of a note: when it comes to researching what are best practices for your health, no one is ever in full agreement. You will find proponents and opponents to pretty much everything to do with health, fitness and nutrition. Experiment. Find what works for you. Everyone is different. People lead different lifestyles. That’s our right as humans.

I want to hear your success story! I want to hear what worked best for you. Let me know in the comments…
